About The Team

The Product team is committed to delivering Business Wire’s next-generation business communication for enterprises, PR agencies that serve them, as well as to media publishers and influencers, who are at the heart of the value we provide. We pride ourselves on working as a collaborative, customer-focused team of empathetic influencers who listen, bring people together and build consensus out of ambiguity.

About The Role

We are looking for a Director, Product Partnerships to dig into new and existing product areas for Business Wire and to forge new relationships with world-class companies to help us provide our customers with the best possible products and services. This role will be instrumental in shaping the team’s charter over the coming years. You will work regularly with the product and senior leadership teams to understand the competitive landscape and make critical decisions about building, buying, or partnering when we expand our product suite.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work with Product and other cross-functional teams to define the strategic roadmap and process to identify new strategic partners and negotiate first-of-their kind business and technical terms with them across a variety of initiatives. Foundational to this role, you will:

  • Build process and create business cases to help Business Wire navigate decisions around building, buying, or partnering when entering a new product area or improving an existing product line

  • Deeply understand Business Wire’s products and strategic direction to inform and influence our product roadmap based on the competitive landscape and the needs of our partners

  • Partner with Product Management teams to launch new products

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including product business development. Product management experience is a plus

  • Experience successfully creating partnership strategies and process

  • Proven track record of building and launching industry-leading strategic partnerships

  • Qualitative and quantitative abilities required to build business cases that clearly articulate value to both Business Wire and our customers

  • Experience creating and owning business relationships

  • Strong leadership qualities that can influence cross-functional departments and gain alignment

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to think strategically and analytically about business and product opportunities, a demonstrated record of executing high-value partnerships, and experience managing a team of high performing individuals

  • Experience negotiating complex, technical contracts
